Named "the best hidden neighborhood," by the Houston Press in 2008, Braeswood Place neighborhood in Houston is an area of mostly upper middle-class. Braeswood Place apartments are some of the most high demand apartments in Houston. Many high-rise and luxury apartments are common here.

In 2001, Tropical Storm Allison caused major flooding in the city of Houston, which included the Braeswood area. Because of that storm, roughly 500 homes were destroyed. These were mainly older, colonial-style homes. Luckily the neighborhood had already been working on a transitioning to newer homes. The storm simply inspired that transition to progress at a more rapid speed. Now Braeswood Place consists of mostly newer single-family houses and apartment complexes.

The Houston Independent School District (HISD) serves public schools in the Braeswood area. Some of these schools include Mark Twain Elementary, Longfellow Elementary, Pershing Middle School, Pin Oak Middle School, Lamar High School, and Bellaire High School. Private schools include St. Vincent de Paul School and St. Mark's Episcopal School.

The family-oriented community spends a great deal of time at the public library or at the various parks. The McGovern-Stella Link Branch of the Houston Public Library (the branch located in Braeswood Place) is award-winning. One of those awards included "Best Public Library Branch," given by the Houston Press in 2007.

In addition to the library, you might find the kids of Braeswood Place residents enrolled in Little League. Some of the many parks near Braeswood Place apartments include Karl Young Park and Helen's Park. Terlingua Border Cafe and Nick's Pasta Place are just a couple of the interesting restaurants near Braeswood Place apartments.

Braeswood Place apartments are conveniently located near downtown Houston and the Museum District. The Museum District contains the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Children's Museum of Houston, Museum of Printing History, the Buffalo Soldier National Museum and Heritage Center, and many more. The Houston Zoo is also part of the Houston Museum District.
