Situated southeast of downtown Houston, the East End is a wonderfully diverse community with a lot of character and history. The East End is the home of Harrisburg– a 17th century trading post that eventually became the Texas state capitol. The East End was also the place where many new Germans, Italians, and Mexicans settled after immigrating to the US. These days, the East End still retains much of its wonderfully diverse roots and has one of the largest Latino populations in Houston. It also provides easy access to the Talento Bilingue de Houston, the Carlos Garcia Theater, Houston Community College-Southeast campus, Gus Wortham Golf Course, and several great parks. Plus, it’s only minutes from downtown Houston.
